Hubbart County Historical Society plans commemorative events

In 1932, during the great depression, Lucy Jeanne's grandmother lived south of Nevis for three years with her two young children. The family wrote back and forth to their father, a street car driver in Minneapolis, daily. Lucy's family has preserved these letters and their valuable story on the website, www.deardaddy.com.

From June 17th to June 27th, the Hubbard County Historical Society will be hosting Lucy Jeanne and her family - holding several events in conjunction with this and the reunion of the family's Hubbard County friends. Lucy's brother, Mark Forman, will be filming a documentary based on the Farm Letters; visiting the various locations and doing interviews, as well.

"The detailed letters are a rare historical treasure as well as fascinating to read. Anyone who has ever enjoyed stories like the Little House Books will be enveloped by the charm and history of this local family and their courageous adventure trying to pursue the family's dream in northern Minnesota."

Following is a schedule of events that are being held during their stay. The Hubbard County Historical Society would appreciate your help in the upcoming weeks. If you reside in the area, please help put up flyers in your area, plan to attend and invite your friends, family and neighbors. If you live outside the community, please take a moment to visit www.deardaddy.com.
